Welcome to the Monday Morning Mirror - your weekly pause for clarity.
Every week deserves a moment of clarity. The Monday Morning Mirror is a pause at the start of your week to see yourself more clearly, shift your angle of vision, and send forward a ripple of purposeful action.
Each issue includes three parts:
Simple, memorable, and consistent — delivered every Monday to help you reflect, reframe, and ripple forward with purpose.
REFLECTION
Last Friday, in the LinkedIn Friday Fridge-spiration post, I introduced the idea of Units of Attention — UOAs. I suggested we each get 20–30 per day.
I’m calling FOUL on myself. 🏀 That doesn’t test out. Neuroscience shows we really have about 4–6 hours of high-quality focus each day. If a UOA = 30–45 minutes of intentional focus, then our daily allocation is actually closer to 8–12 UOAs (on our best days).
That makes them even more precious. Every UOA is scarce capital. Invest it with intention and it compounds into growth. Spend it in distraction and it compounds too — into drift.
👉 Attention compounds daily. The only question is: in what direction?
REFRACTION
“Distraction is easy because the brain is wired to notice novelty.
Focus is harder but it’s a trainable skill.”
— Andrew Huberman
RIPPLE
As you kick off this work week, track your first five Units of Attention (UOAs). Where did they go? Were they invested in growth – or lost to drift?
